Il semble bien que la propriété de Voisins remonte au VIIIe siècle. Etait-ce déjà le domaine de Pierre Ier (1180-1231) seigneur de Voisins et compagnon de Simon de Montfort lors de la triste croisade albigeoise (1209-1255) ? Toujours est-il que l'on trouve trace d'un château dès le XIVe siècle. Passant de mains en mains cette demeure est sans cesse modifiée et agrandie.
